After a two-year phase of work in (Care) project within Erasmus+ program, Prof. Ayman Sobh, the Acting President of Al-Aqsa University, Dr. Kamal Alsharafi, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Radwan Aburukba the Dean of the International Relations, Dr. Abdelnasser Rayyan the Dean of Al-Aqsa Community College (ACC), Dr. Asmaa Alderbashi, the Head of Early Childhood Education at (ACC), members of Al-Aqsa University council, and academic and administrative staff members gathered on 17th October at Al-Aqsa Community College Campus in Gaza City for a ribbon-cutting celebration to mark the opening of the Early Childhood laboratory which is a visible capacity building of the Care project within Erasmus+ program, cofounded by the EU commission.
The guests enjoyed getting an inside view of the state-of-the-art facility that is being used for training classes for both specialists and students of early childhood education in the Gaza Strip.
The lab specialists and the Head of the Early Childhood Education Department were delighted to show the guests the learning environment inside the 22-desktop lab with interactive LCD, which features educational technology skills, early childhood digital material, and interactive activities.
Dr. Abdelnasser Rayan welcomed the guests, pointing to this distinguished achievement that will serve the Department of Early Childhood Education “we’re extremely gratified to see the wonderful equipment that our students will now have at their disposal to maximize their learning opportunities and simulate real-life medical situations.” He stated.
From his side, Dr. Aburukba stated that this lab is one of the outputs of the Care Project. The lab capacity and equipment can provide a suitable learning environment and sustainable learning in accordance with the EU standards. We are happy to have 13 partners participating in this project, including universities and institutions from Palestine, the UK, Italy, Greece, Ireland, and Portugal.
Prof. Ayman Sobh, the Acting President of the University, said “Al-Aqsa University is proud to be a partner in this creative project” and is looking forward to the great continued relationship between the partner organizations. “Our vision is building the capacities of our students and staff and our academic and technical staff had the opportunity to refine their skills through the training courses that were held and will be held in the partner universities and institutions within Care project that they could transfer the gained knowledge and experiences and apply them at their home University further institutions, especially the institutions concerned with the field of child care in Palestine.
During his speech, his excellency Dr. Alsharafi emphasized the need for continued work to ensure the real application of the vision, mission, and goals of the college, he also shed a light on the significant role of the college in building the capacities of students, trainees and graduates in the field of early childhood education who are in turn serve the Palestinian community in this field.
