Al-Rawdah University College Hold a Workshop on the Transfer of the Academic Expertise
Within the activities of the Erasmus EU Funded Project” Enhancing Early Childhood Education and Care in n Palestine” (CARE) and under the auspices of the President of Al- Rawdah University College; Mr. Saleh Abdelhadi ;the Quality and the Project Unit with the cooperation of Child Education Department as partners in the project , held a workshop on the transfer of academic expertise by the academics who had participated in the training courses at the EU partnered universities which are the University of Crete in Greece, the University of Palermo in Italy and the University of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança in Portugal ,addressing another class of teachers of the Department of Child Education and some administrators ,in addition to the Rawdah kindergarten teachers, and some of the basic elementary teachers from the first grade to the fourth grade at the Rawdah school, in addition to some education supervisors, and some kindergarten principals in Nablus directorate for Education.
In his speech, Mr. Saleh welcomed the participants and praised the existing cooperation between the Palestinian universities partnering with the project, which are Al-Quds Open University/the leader of the project, Al-Aqsa University in Gaza, Al-Ummah University College, Al- Rawdah University College, the Palestinian Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Social Development, and the universities and institutions in Italy, Greece, Portugal, Britain and Ireland. He thanked the European Commission for their support to improve the early childhood sector in Palestine and called for more cooperation and the transfer of expertise and experience.
Then, the manager of the development package in the project from Rawdah University College side; Ms. Samar Abu Shamat Jawhari; delivered a presentation that summarizes the project goals and the expected outcomes, the work packages and the implementation mechanism, and she reviewed the current status of the project in general and the training courses that were conducted for the academic and the technical staff in the partnered universities in specific.
Then Dr. Wafaa Ashour/ The Acting Director of the Development and Quality at the Ministry of Education presented a summary of the current status of the early childhood in Palestine, after which the Al-Quds Open University team consisting of Dr. Khaled Abu Al-Haija , Dr. Atef Sabry, Dr. Nafez Ayoub, Dr. Ismail Al-Afandi and Dr. Atef Al-Asouli and led by Dr. Iyad Abu Baker presented about their experience in Portugal. This was followed by some presentations by Mr. Maher Al-Risha ,Mrs. Bahana Zagha, Mrs. Manal Dwaikat , and Ms. Samar Abu Shamat; as participants in these courses to build on the best practices and align them with the specificity of the Palestinian society.
The workshop included many discussions, interventions and targeted activities. At the end of the workshop, Ms. Samar discussed and documented the final recommendations.
